When I entered college (16 years ago) and pledged a sorority, I had no idea at the time what I would do with all the t-shirts I saved over the 4 years I was there. I knew that I wanted to keep my jersey in case I had a daughter (who pledged the same sorority) to pass it on too. But I did not know what I would do with the t-shirts from swaps, sisterhood retreats, formals, and such. I kept my favorite ones and the ones in the best condition. I am glad I did...even if I graduated 12 years ago...because J's grandmother made my old t-shirts into a quilt. Not only did she make one for me, she also made a quilt for J using his old t-shirts from his fraternity.
Here are a few pictures I took of the quilts. We just love them!! They turned out perfect.
This is the quilt she made from some of my old t-shirts:

So, do you have a neat or special way you have saved mementos from college or high school?

That is really cool. I also pledged a sorority and I started to make a quilt once I graduated. However, it is sitting in my closet in squares. Maybe this summer I'll get it out and start working on it again. Very cute!
Those quilts are beautiful! I love the idea of t shirt quilts. It is on my to do list for quilts. I want toe one with all the t shirt I have from girl scouts.
I love them!!! So sweet of her to make and a great way to treasure all those old shirts!
I bet that is the softest blanket in the world! I love it!
What a great idea!!! That is a great idea for our little's elementary school tshirts for field day & stuff like that!
Miss you so much!
