He Is....

I know that He is making things happen.

I know that He is always with me.

I know He is hearing our prayers and He is working on them.

I have lots on my mind.  Several blog posts floating around in my head.  I have not seemed to find the time to jot them down just yet. I feel more busy now than I ever have...ironically one of my posts is on "busy-ness".  (I will get those posts up) (:

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Who Can Identify?

I saw this quote this morning while scrolling through facebook and it made me stop and think...because I can completely identify.  I want to share my thoughts about it, but guess what...I am in a hurry this morning.  I will blog soon though.

Have a great day!

Recipe, as promised

In my post yesterday, I promised I would share my recipe for Cinnamon Butter Crescent Rolls.
I came across the recipe while on Pinterest one day.  You can find the original recipe HERE

After making the recipe a couple times, I tweaked it a bit.

Here is the recipe I am using now:

Cinnamon Butter Crescent Rolls

Ingredients:
2 tubes of crescent rolls - trust me, you will want to make both tubes (you can thank me later)

Filling:
10 TBS butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
5 tsps cinnamon

Topping/Glaze:
4 TBS butter, melted
1  cup confectioner sugar *use more of the sugar if you want a "whiter" glaze
1/2 tsp vanilla, if desired  **I made it using the vanilla and also without, really no difference to the taste

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick spray ***trust me clean up will be much easier
Roll out crescent rolls into triangle
Spread each triangle evenly with the butter filling
Roll up the triangles tightly
Place on baking sheet
Bake according to crescent roll can directions
While the crescents are baking, make the glaze
Combine melted butter, confectioners sugar, and vanilla (if desired) mix until smooth
Spread the glaze over the crescent rolls as soon as they come out of the oven
Eat and Enjoy!!

I have a feeling your family will enjoy this recipe as much as we do!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful time ringing out 2012 and bringing in 2013.
My mom kept the kids for us on New Years Eve, so the hubby and I went out to eat.  Neither one of us could decide what we wanted to eat....but here we are before our date night:

We finally decided to get pizza from our favorite pizza place.  J always has to have this pizza before he leaves for any period of time and he has to have it as soon as he returns.  The picture does not do this pizza any justice:

After dinner we came back home and watched the fireworks our neighbors were shooting.  It was a fun low-key evening.

This morning we slept in....probably the first time we have slept this late since oh, um, college?  ha!  I made one of our new favorite breakfast dishes - Cinnamon Butter Crescents.  I found the recipe on Pinterest, but I have tweaked it some.  I will share the recipe soon, promise.  Anyway, I made the crescents then we ate breakfast in bed.

This afternoon, we went over to my mom's house for a traditional new year's meal.  We ate...a lot...black eyed peas (for good luck), greens (for money), mashed potatoes, corn, breaded pork chops, cornbread, and finished the meal with brownies and ice cream...hello I need some elastic pants.

Happy 2013!
