A Little Of This and That...

Since my last post we have received some VERY exciting news, had some funny moments, attended an Easter party at Jack's school, and of course made great progress in the kitchen. Just to torture my readers a little bit, I am saving the exciting news until the end of this post =)

FUNNY MOMENTS:
Jason was walking through the house and said with great enthusiasm "I am so glad to be home"....Jack calling out from the bathroom "Daddy come wipe my butt" It was one of those moments that Jason and I could not stop laughing...wonder if he was still glad =)

Since Jason has been home there has been several days in a row that he has not shaved...after a few days of this, you can imagine how "scruffy" he was starting to look. We were getting ready to leave the house and Madeline took one look at Jason and said "Daddy, you need to go wash your face it is very dirty" I just love the honesty of kids!

KITCHEN:
Jason and I have made a lot of progress in the kitchen. Today we will put the FINAL coat of paint on the cabinet bases. Then I will start on the doors. We are still on track to be complete with the white paint by tomorrow. After the white paint is on the doors, my friend and I will begin the glazing process. I am so ready for this remodeling to be done.

UPDATE:
Jason and I are counting down the days to the Jimmy Buffett concert...less than a week to go =)

EASTER PARTY:
Jack had an Easter Egg Hunt and Party at his school. He asked me to go with him, which of course I was so honored to do!

Jack and me ready to head to the Easter party at his school.

Jack and his favorite girl, Chloe =)

EXCITING NEWS:
Jason and I are....going to the race at Talladega!!! (haha...what did you think I was going to say here???)
Seriously though...
For those of you who know my husband, you know that there are 2 things he enjoys A LOT! Alabama football and Nascar racing. Well this month he is going to get to see both of those. Next weekend we will be going with some great friends to the A day game. Then the weekend after that is the big race at 'Dega. Now Jason being the faithful Nascar follower that he is, he has attended the races at 'Dega every year for the past 15 years (except of course those years that he has been deployed)
Well a wonderful driver ~the driver of the #26 Crown Royal/Irwin Industrial Tools car Jamie McMurray~ wants to honor a soldier who just returned from serving overseas. The program contacted the unit that Jason is a part of and gave the unit 50 FREE tickets for soldiers to sit in the grandstands. Not only did they do this, but they asked for 1 soldier to honor with VIP status...well guess who was chosen???? MY MAN!!!! Jason is going to serve as an honorary pit crew member of the #26 racing team and I will get to be his guest. Not only does Jason get to be an honorary pit crew member, his name is going to be on the hood of the race car that Jamie McMurray will be driving during the race!!! OMG!!! How awesome is this!?!!!
Here is an excerpt from the email we received on the honor:

WHAT:
Service Offering - Meet NASCAR Driver, Host Honorary Pit Crew Member
with Guest, Display Name on Car, Get Free Grand Stand Tickets

WHO:
NASCAR Driver for Crown Royal/Irwin Industrial Parts #26 Jamie McMurray
would like to thank military Service Members for their service to
country.

WHERE:
Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega, AL

WHEN:
Sun, 26 Apr 09, 1300 hours

We do not know all the details yet, but from what I read on others who have been selected for this wonderful honor, it looks like it is going to be so exciting! For all of you who read my blog, you know that I am so proud of my man and very passionate about supporting our troops! Well I am just bursting with excitement about this and so proud that service members are being honored like the VIP's that they are!

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting news!!!!
