After the promotions were completed, the commander asked my grandad to speak. Papaw did an amazing job and he received a lot of claps and hooahs =) Papaw served 20 years active duty and this August will mark 36 years retired. He served one tour in Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam. Papaw is a TRUE American Hero in my book! How fitting that he was able to pin his grandson (who is a veteran of Operation Iraq Freedom)

WOW I still get chills watching the video again even when I was there. I am so proud of Jeremy and you Jessica. I can honestly say that my children have turned out to be the best children ever! You and jermey both have done so much in life and i am soooooo proud of both of you. Papaw has been a hugh part in both of your lives and I know he is thrilled of that. All he could do is talk about you and Jeremy and what good kids you are. I love you Both, Jeremy and Jessica. You are my world. thanks for being such good kids and turning into such a fine woman and man!!!! LOVE MOM
You are right, it is hard to believe that he is the same kid that shot at us with a BB gun... You guys are an awesome family and I love you all!!! So many memories from the Johnson clan!!
