I came across an article and have some mixed emotions about it.
Here is an excerpt from it:
Fast food joints where soldiers wolf down burgers and pizza will soon be a thing of the past at bases in Afghanistan, as the U.S. military reminds soldiers they are at war and not in "an amusement park."
You can read the entire article HERE
So, tell me...what do you think???

Wow, that's an interesting article. I have to admit that I didn't even know that the troops had fast food joints available to them over there. I'm so torn about things like this. Of course I hope that the troops can enjoy ammenities like that that make them feel a little closer to home. But if it comes at the expense of other neccessities...hmmm. I also don't know how I feel about the debate over alcohol in war zones. Sure I think they deserve a beer every now and then to relax, but then you see scenes like the one in the Hurt Locker where the guys are getting trashed, and you think, well maybe alcohol (unless rationed) isn't such a great idea. Great post! Gives us something to think about.
My husband & I read that article the other day and we couldn't believe it. He just came from there, and said if they take those things away he would HATE to go there again. Those fast food joints reminded them of home & made them feel normal.
As for the alcohol.. the beer they get over there is always NA, and they only receive two or three if they do get any.
