Girl's Night...10 months late...

A few nights ago my very best friend Aimee and I finally had a girls night...10 months late...yep...for her birthday (last December) I gave her a night out to paint a picture. Well the past year has been VERY busy for us (Aimee adopted a beautiful little girl from China and of course us with the whole deployment thing) we decided that this is it we are going. And I am so glad we did! It was too much fun! Below are some pictures of our night =0

Just me...ready to paint =)

Happy Birthday from last December Aimee! ha

And here we go...a blank canvas

The top half of my scarecrow...thinking the hat is a little..uhum...a lot too big

His body...turns out he is a little too short...his legs should reach to the bottom of the canvas

He is coming together...giving him a little straw hands, feet, and hair

Remember how I said he was a little too short...well I had to make up for that by painting extra pumpkins along the bottom. Not only were his legs too short, but so were his arms. The little crow was to be resting on his arms, but b/c his arms were a little on the short side, my little crow had to be flying =)

Painting the face on my scarecrow.

Aimee putting some finishing touches on her painting.

My finished painting.

We signed our names to the wall.

Our finished paintings!

I had soooo much fun doing this! I have not laughed so hard at myself in a long time! It was a much needed time away and I am so glad that I got to spend some much needed time with Aimee =)

We have already scoped out the next painting we want to attempt and I am looking forward to it! Now I just have to figure out where I am going to keep all these paintings...the scarecrow is currently in the closet. I was going to hang it with my fall decor, but when I asked J what he thought, he just gave me the shoulder shrug (you know the one...the shrug as if it to say..uh maybe you should not hang that) At least the kiddos adored it and thought mommy was super talented. HA!

If you ever get the chance you must give this a try! I promise you will not be disappointed!
