Yesterday, we took Madeline for her very first haircut. I had Jason come with me because I was really afraid that Madeline would not cooperate. We have been talking it up (you know trying to make it sound like fun) and Madeline would just continue to tell us that she was not going. So needless to say, we were a little nervous about how it would turn out. Below are the pics...
Getting ready for the cut.
So far we are all smiles.
And it's time to begin.
Sitting still just like a big girl =)
It's over! No tears! She did so great with the trim. I am soooo proud of her!
Jeanie our wonderful hairdresser! We just love her! =)

Having Fun With Daddy
There is never a dull or quiet moment at our house. (but that is ok, that is how I like it)
Most nights, you will find J playing good guys vs bad guys with the kids. Of course, J is always the bad guy. Tonight J assumed his usual role of bad guy while Jack being the good guy tried to fight him off. Out of no where came Madeline with a cape saying she was "coming to the rescue" This led to Jack needing a cape and wouldn't you know it, J in a cape. J is probably really going to hate that I put these pictures on here, but I just could not resist it. Enjoy the pictures...

Christmas time
We had such a wonderful Christmas time! I can not believe it is already over =( It makes me sad...it goes by too fast! This year was such a different holiday for us. We all actually enjoyed Christmas day...there was no empty feeling because someone was missing, no sitting by the phone and computer waiting to hear from Jason, no thoughts of an impending deployment...just an uneventful Christmas. =) It was great and I feel so blessed.
Having everyone at our house for breakfast was wonderful, watching the kids open their presents was fantastic, being spoiled by our families was great, BUT the biggest and bestest gift of all was the gift of our Savior. What an amazing gift!
On Christmas eve, we sat out cookies and milk for Santa. Left water for the reindeer. And made sure the fireplace screen was open and ready...but my most favorite part of that night was the kids and I sitting with Jason as he read the REAL Christmas story to us. The kids really enjoyed it too. I loved to watch them as they listened to Jason read the story to them and I enjoyed answering their questions. It was such a sweet time =)
Below are some pictures of our Christmas time.

I love that sweet smile

Quick story to share that really melts my heart...When Jack was asked "what was your favorite gift" He said "That my daddy was home and I got a GI Joe headquarters" We are all so THANKFUL that Jason was with us on Christmas day this year!

Enjoying the day
We have been enjoying this GREAT weather! The kids and I spent nearly the entire day outside just soaking it all in (until the rain arrives) We rode bikes, played chase, painted, and of course climbed trees.
Below are some pictures of our fun =)
Madeline working on her painting.
Jack getting started on his painting
Jack was so sweet to share his painting supplies with his sister =)
Madeline using 2 paintbrushes

Madeline with her finished painting

And of course, no day would be complete without some tree climbing =)
Hope you are enjoying your day!

Christmas at great-grandparents
This past weekend we made the trip to my grandparents houses. I am so thankful for such wonderful grandparents and even more thankful that my children are able to spend time with them too. Last year we were not able to attend the Christmas festivities because it was held on the same weekend that Jason had to return to the "sandbox" from his R&R. It was hard to miss last year, so that made being able to attend this year even more special.
Below are some pictures from our weekend...
