Day 5 ~ Wives of Faith Blog Carnival

Welcome to Day 5 of the Wives of Faith Blog Carnival!
Today's topic is: "You Might Be A Military Spouse At Christmas if"

Well, I am an Army Reservist Wife, so while I do not have much experience of what it would be like to be an active duty spouse I do know what it is like to be a spouse during a deployment in the holiday season...so here is my list...

You Might Be A Military Spouse At Christmas if...
~Instead of the traditional decorations on the Christmas tree, you go with a patriotic theme.

Our tree from 2008 all decked out in red, white, and blue

The ornament I made with my hubby's picture for our tree last year

~If the sound of Christmas songs playing in your car want to make you drive off a cliff, so you listen to sports talk radio to avoid any chance of hearing a Christmas song.

~If the commericals on tv of happy families sitting around opening presents makes you cry.

~If you do all your shopping online because you just can not take on the task of lugging 2 toddlers through the store.

~If you carry your cell phone with you EVERYWHERE you go so you do not miss a phone call.

~If you keep the house phone, cell phone, and lap top all in the bed beside you in the hopes that your hubby will get to use the phone or have an internet signal.

~If you fight tears with every ounce of your being at church because you feel your the only one in the building who does not have a spouse sitting with them.

~If you celebrate Christmas whenever you get the chance (late or early) because the hubby may not be home on the 25th

~If you cherish every single moment you get and realize that it is not about the presents, but instead about family and the birth of our precious Saviour.

Well, there is my little list. Be sure to check out www.wivesoffaith.org to read what other military spouses have to say =)

Okay, I've said this on pretty much everyone's post - but you made me tear up! I'm SO THERE with you! The cell/laptop next to the bed. Crying at commercials. Being in church and feeling like the only one alone. I feel you. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas this year!
